How to fix text selection issue?

I am having issues reselecting text which was previously selected, once the selection cursor is dropped, the cursor goes back to the start of the selection. I am using Edge version 108.0.1462.76 official build, and one of the official Codemirror examples.

Any ideas how may I go about fixing this?

I am not seeing this in MS Edge in the codemirror.net frontpage example editor.

I can replicate the issue on both Chromium and MS Edge on macOS Monterey 12.6, though the same issue doesn’t seem to persist to Firefox. It seems to be a issue with Chromium based browsers.
