On selecting text in iOS( in 4S,ios 8), rich text formatting options (B,I,U) are being shown in addition to cut, copy and paste options. Is there a way to remove those options, as they don’t work and are not needed as well ?
I tried to find a way to hide these, but didn’t find one. That doesn’t mean there isn’t one – Safari/Webkit’s non-standard interfaces aren’t well documented. I used contenteditable="plaintext-only"
at some point, which did hide these controls, but that caused other problems (pasting rich text causes newlines to be stripped).
